Oils meeting Mercedes-Benz 228.3/228.5 standard are all considered to be good.

These are currently the best, but continuous efforts are made by the various technical bodies to improve the performance of lubricating oils resulting in the periodic introduction of higher grades.

In many cases using the best oil is not economical. The right balance of economy and performance can be made for each situation.
